Polk St. Clip & Climb
The Polk St. staircase connects Vine St. and Ohio Ave. It is one of Cincinnati's 400 stairways. Unfortunately, this public space was "closed" many years ago and became an illegal dump-site. With loppers and trash bags in hand, PAN and Spring in Our Steps trimmed and cleaned through the years of neglect to carve out a path. After only two hours, this staircase is once again visible, but there is still work to be done! Hopefully our presence will bring awareness to this piece of Cincinnati's rich history. And maybe, just maybe, corral the city and neighborhood to rehab/reopen the Polk St. staircase. |

The Tailor Shop Unveiling
Pan helped OTR ADOPT and the potential new owner of the Tailor Shop to remove old ugly siding and formastone from the exterior walls. The building, as the name suggests belonged to a tailoring business and was built in the mid to late 1800s.
The building is slated to be turned into apartments in this coming restoration. |

The Brill House Cleanup
Autumn quarter of 2011, PAN had the wonderful opportunity to help out with this old gem, the Brill House. The Brill House has beautiful balconys that overlook the Findlay Market Gardens and gorgeous late 1800s architecture.
The goal of the new ownership of this building is to turn it into apartments. |

Barr's Loans Cleanup
A cleanup in an old pawn shop, which, as you can see from the pictures, still had remnants of its original salables. Although Barr's Loans is still in business, it is no longer in this location on Vine St and this building has fallen into disarray. The ultimate goal of the new owners of this building is to turn it into apartments, though little has yet been done yet to the building.

First German Reformed Church Cleanup
Our first clean-up back in February 2011, before PAN was an official student group. This old church was filled to the brim with trash and debris from two decades of changed ownership and vacancy. The new owners of this beautiful church have the dream of turning it into a restaurant and music hall. Work has been slow since the cleanup, but the church is finally receiving a new slate roof that will buy the owners time to continue working on the project.
